AK/Apple Fire Retardant Plywood

Fire retardant characteristics are very important property to prevent propagation of fire at the initial stage. AK/APPLE Fire retardant plywood meets IS 5509 standards, manufactured from selected hardwoods and to make the plywood resistant to fire, the sheets are treated with fire retardant chemicals under vacuum pressure impregnation. It is commonly used in public places, where the risk of fire has to be reduced. A fire retardant material like our Plywood is one that is designed to resist burning and withstand heat. They are designed to burn slowly, in contrast to fire resistant materials, which are designed to burn at all.
  • Tendency to spark and ignite is minimal.
  • Low flammability and minimal smoke generation

    • Slow burning Decreased chance of the fire spreading over the surface of the plywood.
    • Panel sizes A range of sizes are available according to customer needs.
    • Thickness Common thickness ranges from 4 to 25mm
    • Bond/Adhesive Phenol formaldehyde for weather and Boil Water Proofing (BWP); low formaldehyde formulations for compliance to emission level requirements such as E1.
    • Standard Conforms to Indian Standards - IS 5509 (Bureau of Indian standards) – which is produced in compliance with internationally recognized standards such as (An ISO 9001)
